Brief

The European Union (EU) in the Philippines aimed to enhance EU-ASEAN ties, by explaining the intricacies of the EU-ASEAN Strategic Partnership, and creating a dynamic space for online dialogue and collaboration.

Solution

After researching, a one-day event blending targeted outreach and an online webinar was proposed, including curated communication to engage key EU and ASEAN stakeholders. In parallel, technical support was designed to deliver a seamless virtual platform for engagement during the webinar.

Outcome

A resounding 750 participants attended the webinar, including students, government officials, diplomats, military personnel, academicians, and representatives from various organisations. The discussions underscored the importance of the ASEAN-EU strategic partnership, and conveyed a deeper understanding of their commitment to achieve political and security stability, promote economic recovery, build a robust green partnership, and enhance connectivity.

The event's public and media outreach successfully generated coverage from ten media outlets and many web stories from ASEAN Ministries of Foreign Affairs and EU Delegations.
