Brief

World Bank Korea Office wished to organise their “Asia-Pacific Pandemic Preparedness and Response Regional Forum” in Bangkok, Thailand. The event would mark the conclusion of the Republic of Korea and the World Bank Group partnership on Pandemic Preparedness and Response to assist countries in navigating the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and preparing them for future threats.

Solution

We worked with the World Bank to design a hybrid forum, providing end-to-end event management and on-site support that gave centre stage to the insights and experiences of East Asian nations.

In order to privilege discussions and knowledge exchange, and to ensure that participants drew conclusions to build better resilient systems, we facilitated seamless simultaneous live streaming of Korean interpretation from the Republic of Korea to the audience in Bangkok; also handling all live presentations by online speakers from across the world.

Outcome

The goals set and results achieved by the Korea - World Bank Group Partnership in helping Asian countries in their pandemic preparedness and response were presented to over 60 delegates, government officials, policy makers, academics, experts and World Bank representatives from Asia-Pacific. Over 2 days and a half, they shared an invaluable opportunity to learn and exchange about their countries' achievements in pandemic preparedness and response.

The privilege of contributing to an event of global significance pushed us to excel in the provision and quality of services, and to enable participants and speakers to overcome language barriers, interact with each other, and to understand and get their message across during the exchanges.

A key result was the digital compilation and sharing of audio-visual materials and reports with all participants and their hosting on the World Bank Group platforms.
